Traditionally building control systems have been defined by the manufacturer and the manufacturers' brand of controls systems. Today, with the launch of a "controls vendor free" control system, the industry is seeing a paradigm shift. This domain and protocol agnostic integration framework is able to communicate with a number of disparate protocols and normalizes both IP and legacy serial based protocols. This normalization in turn allows for intra-protocol communication, the uniform application of services such as logging, and the common presentation of information that is sourced from the array of intelligent machines found in buildings.

Richards-Zeta (RZ) Complies with Daylight Saving Time Date Change

Santa Barbara, CA - February 26, 2007

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November, adding about a month to DST. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress and Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete. Though it is not mandatory that all States observe DST, if they choose to do so, it must follow the starting and ending dates set by law.
